Em Torno dos Meus Marítimos | 2014

Em torno dos meus marítimos (Surrounding my sailors, 2014) briefly narrates the life of Marinalva and the relationship between her whorehouse and the port district of the city of Salvador. During the 60s, in Salvador, there were three types of spaces reserved for prostitution: the Brothels, the “Castelos” (castles), and the “Pensões” (pensions). Commissioned by Paulo Herkenhoff and Clarissa Diniz for the exhibition Do Valongo à Favela (MAR, Rio de Janeiro, 2014). Acquired by Museu da Arte do Rio (MAR), in 2014.
